Project Profile
Djerassi Resident Artist Program has provided a place where artists from all over the country could come to reflect and work. This facility is located on a hillside setting in Woodside, California. Each of the four studios are independent residences with footprints of 15 x 27 feet. Structures are very simple but ellgant with finishes that require very low maintenance. The front and rear walls are set in from a sloping roof for protection against exterior elements. Positive site drainage and concrete pier foundations are some of the measures undertaken to soften the impact of heavy rain falls at this site. Light gage steel structures support the elevated solar panels to power these studios.
